Blades, bits and sandpaper (not the best combination of item) fill up my storage shelf that is in constant need of organizing and cleaning
Next to the shelf is my nearly-antique Craftsman band saw. It has a 12" throat and can cut up to 6" tall stock.
The little jointer just past the bans saw is one of my favorite tools in the shop. This Delta 4" jointer is just the right size for a basement shop and was quite a deal at the store that I purchased it from. That was about 10 years ago and it was being discontinued at the time. The stand and motor are not original equipment for the jointer.
A note about safety. This is one of those "do as I say not as I do" comments. The band saw and the jointer have exposed belts and pulleys. This is very dangerous and I will be correcting this problem asap. My plan is to sheet both stands with plywood and build ply or sheet metal housings above the tool tops where the belts are accessible. If you have a similar situation make sure that there is airflow and a way to clean out the chips and dust when you enclose you stands. |
